Have you ever visited a church for the first time and within a few minutes of the service starting, the Holy Spirit, GRABS A HOLD OF You, Fills you.... up, and you feel right at home?

Well it doesn't happen that often with me but it did on Sunday, July13, 2008 when I visited Cornerstone Church in Highland Mi. 

Cornerstone is a beautiful, large  modern church located in South Eastern Mi.  There are cities near by, however Cornerstone Church sits out in the country. This doesn't seem to hurt it, for this Ignited Church, has people appear from all directions not only for its Church services but also to work in the Churches numerous outreach ministries.

Let me describe the decor of Cornerstone Church, it is very comfortable, nicely decorated,
the pews are set in the 1/2 round facing a large platform, and a large visual screen flanks each side of
the platform.

The praise and worship band had 7 vocalists and 7 instrumentalists the day I was there.


Cornerstone's service is very polished. Everyone involved in the service were dressed nicely and acted very professional.

The day I was there, many people of all ages were present with the majority belonging to Gen Y. 

Cornerstone is a Spirit Filled Church, that is blessed with a very friendly congregation

Cornerstone Church, has a congregation that looks out for their visitors, without being overbearing . Thank you Theresa for your hospitality.

The flavor of the service.....My Charismatic friends would love Cornerstone Church's praise and worship and my Baptist friends would be fed by the word.

This is no Laodicean church, it is any thing but complacent. Cornerstone Church is well grounded and is growing on a firm foundation, with the word being preached and taught by Senior Pastor Tim Forsthoff.

Cornerstone Church has a large youth and young adult ministry. They built a $4m youth center on the church, a few years ago and now send out buses, to the north, south, east and west, to bring in the teens from the hi-ways and the bi-ways of the areas cities and towns.

Cornerstone Church's Youth Center, called the Ignited Center, is state of the art. Some of the centers amenities include a 30' tall rock climbing tower, a café', an auditorium that seats 500, and many computer terminals.

Cornerstone's youth ministry is flowing under a dynamic young Pastor, Jacob Ouellette.

The day I visited, Cornerstone had some 30 youth on a missions trip in Peru and a group of 60 leaving to do street ministry on the streets of New York City the next day.

I would recommend, Cornerstone, to any one who is looking for a Church that is grounded in the Word, that is friendly, and that has an Ignited Ministry.

Cornerstone is a Church Ignited for the LORD!
